My project revolves around the Tertial lamp from IKEA. I choose this because it is an iteam that has been near me for a quite long period of time and I thought that I can bring it more to my needs.

Because I found myself in situations where I cannot create enough light in the medium that I am working (my desk/workbench) because of the inaccessibility of the angle that I have to position the lamp therefore I will start this project by trying to replace the trapezoidal joint to you see above in the lamp with a ball joint that would make it more accesible.
Plastic turned out to be too brittle to be used and a mold it's to complicated to make, so the best and most efficent option is to make the item out of metal.

I tryed making it out of metal sheet but the 2D shape that I had to cut was quite complicated and because of the shape of the object it was hard to bend. Therefore I decided to make it from a block of material. I used the mill for this and a bit of filing and it turned out successful. The final object is made out of aluminium
The second part of the project consists in the creation of a set of accesories that can be easily attached to the lamp head such as a key holder, for convenience. This will be later on turned into plasture molds and then casted in epoxy resin
After the first print I realised that my first idea was too big and I wasted a lot of material so I decided to make each item separate form each other.
